GIFT OPPORTUNITIES

Student Fellows

Fund a Student Fellow -- $10,000 Annual Gift

Endow and name a Student Fellow Position -- $200,000 Pledge

A gift to support a Student Fellow’s position supports all residents at Bowles Hall. Student fellows provide support, guidance, and the wisdom of experience. University life can be complex and the support of an experienced student can make a difference. A Bowles Hall Student Fellowship is a compensated position and students are chosen through a competitive process.  Students co-design and help implement the College’s supplemental academic and career advising model and related programs.  Additionally, students offer office hours, take a leadership role in student conflict mediation and create a climate that supports students from diverse backgrounds.

Outright gifts can be made to fund a Student Fellow for one year ($10,000). An endowed Student Fellow fund can be established in your name or a name of your choosing ($200,000). By design, endowments are sustainable resources, continually replenished by investment returns. As the most long-lasting and dependable sources of private funds, endowments offer the best way to ensure the health and longevity of the Bowles Hall Experience.

Led by live-in members of the UC Berkeley faculty, a central element of the Hall is its academic counseling and guidance programs. These guiding components are especially important for incoming students seeking to identify their aptitudes and interests so they may pursue a well-suited degree and career path. Through the development of academic, professional, and social relationships, the community focuses on crafting an academic plan for four-year graduation, helps students stay on track, and promotes readiness for professional education and/or careers upon graduation.

Specifically, a program fund supports fireside chats with UC Berkeley faculty, career-focused workshops, and social events.
